What happens during a homeopathic consultation?
If you have a chronic, or frequently recurring, complaint the first consultation generally takes about 30 minutes to one and a half hour. You should give as much detail as possible about your symptoms, including anything that makes them better or worse. Changes within you (mood, anxieties, sleep, dreams, appetite, thirst, temperature) since and before the symptoms started are very useful while selecting a homoeopathic medicine. Full medical case history from you along with details of all previous health problems concerning you and your family (blood relatives) is essentially required. The aim of the consultation is to get an overview, not only of your main complaints, but also of you as a person. Follow-up consultations usually last around four to five minutes. They help you and your homoeopath to assess your response to the previous remedy and decide how your treatment can best be continued. |
