ABOUT YMT

The idea of forming Yerala Medical Trust and Research Centre was conceived in 1989 by
Dr. Gajanan D. Pol. Before the inspection of the Trust, Dr. Pol had been practicing successfullly as a General Practitioner at Currey Road in Mumbai.

Dr. Pol belongs to a small village Saspade in Sangli District of Maharashtra. The name Yerala comes from the name of the river Yerala that flows through this village and is a source of life to the village. the local people of this village have alsways looked upon Dr. Pol as Role Model and they encouraged him to name this institute after the river Yerala.

During his practice Dr. Pol got acquainted with Late Mr. Arun Mehta, then M.L.C. of Maharashtra state who saw in Dr. Pol a spirit to do something creative for the poor and needy people in Currey Road, Parel, Lalbaug and Shivdi area and hence they thought of starting a Hospital for the poor and needy people who can avail medical services at low rates and hence Yerala Medical Trust was born in 1989.
ABOUT HOMOEOPATHY

Homoeopathy is a new system medicine discovered by the celebrated German Physician and Scientist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). Over the years homoeopathy has made tremendous progress and spread all over the world. Basically it aims at curing diseases and not merely relieving or suppressing the symptoms.

Homoeopathy is a method of treatment which is based on the ‘law of similars’ and is one of the finest systems of cure available to mankind. The law of similars states that a remedy which creates symptoms and conditions in a person have the potential to cure a sick person manifesting similar symptoms. This can be summed up in the dictum ‘Similia Similibus curenture’ (let likes be cured by likes)

German physician Dr.Samuel Hahneman while practising allopathy, was totally disillusioned with the then prevailing medical diagnosis and treatment because of numerous, diverse and confusing theories propounded during that period.Solutions for the suffering humanity was very elusive and often aggravated the misery. The constant search for the proper and humane treatment ultimately gave Dr.Hahnemann his deserved fruit through a chance experimentation with sinchona bark. It was conclusively proven that the bark’s disease curing property exists along with its property to produce the symptoms of the same disease in a healthy person and its effectiveness depends upon the dosage of the bark administered.Hence, homoeopathy operates with drugs whose efficasies in a healthy human beings as the subject matter of the treatment.

Homoeopathy is a science which stood the test of time for over 150 years. Its method of using drugs which are completely non-toxic and devoid of side effects(extenuation of physiological activity) or after effects(giving rise to new set of symptoms in place of original that is suppression). Homoeopathy has clearly understood the root cause of chronic diseases and developed effective drugs to eradicate them permanently. Thus homoeopathy has established its place by curing diseases rapidly, gently, and permanently restoring the health by annihillating the diseases in its whole extent in the shortest and the most harmless way. With today’s prevailing holistic approach to help the diseased makes Homoeopathy undoubtedly the most appropriate choice of treatment.

Homoeopathy is thus the only true, simple and rational science of healing. All its observations are dependent on natural, pure and is the most friendly human medical treatment without any dreaded side effects which we find in other modern medical system. Cost wise also, there is no other medical system in the world as inexpensive as Homoeopathy.Homoeopathy, thus has an exceedingly bright future and offers an unique opportunity to equip themselves with the latest method of treatment combined with a vast armoury of powerful drugs so as to enable to deal with the diseases which otherwise considered incurable. Hence, homoeopathy aptly called as "Science of tomorrow".
